Questions
Is this official?
No. OffYet is built by a fellow firefighter and isn’t affiliated with CAL FIRE, Riverside County, or OSS.
Is my password safe?
Your OSS login is encrypted before it’s stored and is only used to read your own lookups. It’s never shown to anyone, never logged, and deleted the moment you delete your account.
How accurate is it?
It’s an estimate. It counts how deep your relief chain runs and adds drive times and a 20-minute passdown per handoff. It can’t see late calls or decisions made that morning.
Does it work outside Riverside?
Not yet. It reads OSS-Riverside.
What does it cost?
It’s free during early access. After that it’s $5 for a day pass or $60 a year. When paid plans start you get 15 days’ notice and a 30-day free trial from then, and no card is needed until you choose to pay.
Why $5 a day?
Most people only need it on the mornings they’re held over. A day pass covers one of those mornings, with everything included for 24 hours and nothing to cancel. It pays for itself with one holdover: one morning of knowing instead of guessing, and one text home instead of ten OSS screens.
Why $60 a year?
It’s the price of 12 day passes, and it covers every shift all year. If you’re held over more than about once a month, the year costs less.
What do I get?
Everything: your leave time, the whole relief chain, who’s coming on at your station, Text home, and OffYet on your home screen. After the free trial you still see how deep your chain is without paying. The time, the chain and Text home need a day pass or a year.
Can my whole crew use it?
Yes. Each person links their own OSS login. Invite codes let a crew skip the wait.
What do you see in OSS?
Your own schedule and profile, plus the station schedules your relief chain passes through. Nothing is changed in OSS.
Can I use it for my timesheet?
Only to jog your memory. OffYet is a voluntary app and its times are estimates, not a record of your hours. Record your actual time the way your agency’s policies and your MOU require.
